You should be sure to make an argument: your paper should advance a set of claims of which your reader will need to be convinced, and you should organize your paper around the presentation of reasons, both logical and evidentiary, for the reader to accept your conclusions. Please try to avoid any form of extended summary. Effective papers will advance their claims by careful analysis of particular sequences from the works they consider.
